1. Navigate to Time Keeping System records; My Daily Work à System Setup à Self Service à Time Keeping System.
2. To change, click Edit.
3. To configure a Time Keeping System record, specify the following data:
o Enter Time Keeping System basic information, in terms of Code & Name.
o Specify Time File Type referring to Time Keeping machine database format type via provided list; SQL Server, Access, Visual Fox Pro, DBase 5, Oracle, Text or Excel.

There are three alternatives to
connect to the organization’s Time Keeping Database:
ü ODBC: Insert an ODBC connection string
or a ‘User DSN’ (Data Source Connection), which is already added in the
ODBC data source administrator on the server; located at the following path; Control
Panel à
Administrative Tools à Data
Sources (ODBC).
ü File Name: Insert the Network file Name
from where the system will retrieve time keeping records details, like for
instance; Excel, Access or Text File.
ü Linked Server: In case HITS Server will communicate with another server which contains time keeping records. Accordingly, HITS Implementer will write the Server Name in this field; like SQL Server.
o
□ Run At
Server check box is only provided for backward
compatibility, and it has no function at HITS DNA or later versions.
Currently, there is an automated job schedule responsible for reading from Time
Keeping database.
o Check □ Time Attendance System is using Clock No, after entering relevant ‘Clock Number’ field per employee, to be used in reading employees’ time keeping transactions. Hence, Time Keeping Card numbers referring to employees at the Time Keeping DB are different from Emp. IDs.
o HITS Implementer/System Administrator may check “User Guide” for more information about the rest of the fields.
o Time System Lines: This link is responsible for identifying the type of transaction read by the time keeping DB and sent to HITS DB; sign in or sign out.
Tip
§ This form is configured by HITS implementer or system
administrator. Normally, this form includes a few records, representing the
relevant driver per Time Keeping machine brand name. Therefore; this form does
not provide the user with the capability of adding a new record or deleting an
existing one.
